Well, probably not. But my car almost did: I was driving home in extremely heavy rain when traffic came to a very sudden stop. I stopped in time, but the Nissan hardbody behind me locked up and slid. I tried to move up as much as I could, but there was still no way he could stop in time.

So he intentionally put his truck into the wall rather than hit me, and it worked. His tire exploded, but it didn’t look like there was any other damage. But yeah, it was pretty neat. I was half tempted to pull over and give him the 20 in my wallet as a thanks/sympathetic gesture, but there was no room for two cars to pull over.

Glad to hear that you or your vehicle weren’t injured. Sucks for the guy in the Hardbody, but kudos to him for putting it in to the wall instead of causing a chain reaction crash.

We were driving on I95 south in Maryland yesterday, and I noticed a familiar silhouette coming up behind us. Thought it was a cop at first, but was pleasantly surprised to see it was a Mercury Marauder.

Five minutes later, and traffic slowed pretty quickly and there was a some heavy lockup in the fast lane ahead of us.

Marauder in the jersey wall. :(

That’s some heads up driving by Mr. Nissan Hardbody. I wish there was a way one could provide something like an amicus brief to an insurance company to let them know that their insured took action to make sure the crash hurt as few people as possible.

I witnessed someone else almost getting dead. I was sitting at a light waiting for the green when a fellow in an older Tacoma on the main road decided to turn left onto my road. I’m surprised he didn’t see the bright yellow jeep coming the other way. Maybe he did and thought he could beat it across the intersection. He was wrong. Fortunately, the Jeep jinked left and only caught the ass-end of the Tacoma. The Tacoma did a full 360 and ended up in the ditch with the rear end crumpled like a beer can. The Jeep was fully armored up front, so it showed little damage.

This type of wreck happens all the time down here. It seems a large part of the Louisiana population has trouble turning left.
